GEORGIA POWER VOGTLE

Enabling the Future

Currently operating two nuclear facilities, Georgia Power contracted an employee engagement video that recognizes the past and future of the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant located in eastern Georgia near the South Carolina border. Using After Effects and Final Cut Pro, the video showcases on-site footage from ongoing construction of two new units as well as from the two existing ones illustrating how the advancement of new technology is built on their past foundation.

The 2 new units are the first to be built in the U.S. in 30 years. About 900 people made up of engineers, control room operators, technicians and more are in charge of overseeing current plant operations 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The new units will be the first in the industry to use advanced pressurized water reactor technology.
